Hi, I’m Jessica Zhang — a storyteller and artist who finds inspiration in both words and images.

 

Through my novels, I explore the lives of ordinary people shaped by history, culture, and family, weaving together stories that reflect the resilience of the human spirit. My books have been honored with literary awards and found homes on the shelves of libraries across the U.S. and beyond, but what matters most to me is when a story resonates deeply with a reader.

 

Alongside writing, I create artwork in charcoal, graphite, and ink — from large-scale oak trees, intricate eye drawings, to travel sketches drawn on location. For me, drawing and writing go hand in hand: both are ways of observing closely, reflecting deeply, and sharing what I see with others.
